On the 9th of May 2017 I was delighted to be contacted by the creative team from Size? asking me to participate in a feature called Size? Captures, that would be shot on location in Leeds. I accepted the invitation and began preparing by ordering film and clearing SD cards.
I began by taking some practice shots of my brothers COMME des GARÇONS Converse shoes using the area around me to get a general idea of the look I wanted.
After taking the test shots I got an idea of a style I liked and received good feedback, so next I went into Leeds city centre to look for nice backdrops that would complement specific shoes, for example, Converse shoes look good on bright and colourful backdrops whilst Air Maxes look better being worn with an urban back drop.
Using my film camera I decided to create more of a documentary style for the Size? shoot. For this, I used my trusted Leica M5 with Portra 400.
The gear I used for the shoot:
Canon FD 35-70MM F3.5
Jupiter 8 50mm F2.0
Kodak Portra 400
